I think the best option is a magnet bar on a wall.
You can get these for pretty cheap and they look a little nicer than the basic magnet.

Just use the largest chefs knife that you feel comfortable working with.... I use a 8in chefs knife for 99% of my cooking.

I like a bread knife and a filet knife from time to time.... Everything else gets the chefs knife.
