Calandros and Ambrosia make a solid king cake. Gambinos also makes a good one when fresh. don't know if there is a "best" in BR, but there certainly are some terrible ones. Wholly donut makes a good donut king cake if you enjoy those.

mom sent me a Praline Cream Cheese Kingcake from Gambino's yesterday. It's the best one I have had in a long time.

I think Calandros is tough to beat in BR. I also like the donut one at Thee Heavenly Donut, but... its not really king cake, and rather pricey for the product you are getting IMHO.
