I had Dempsey’s today and it was good, not great as I was expecting

Their boudin balls tasted like shite

Am taking the wife and her girlfriends to Roberto’s in the next 2 weeks.

Mike Anderson’s

I am a Gumbo snob. I have several cookbooks just on gumbo. I have watched almost ever gumbo video on YouTube. I have made roux traditionally, in the oven, used powdered roux, jarred roux, Karrys roux, Savoies roux, made my own toasted flour roux...

A few years ago I went on a BR Gumbo tour...and Mike Anderson's was the one I thought was the best and it wasn't even close.

I have been to several Roux Rally's and in 2018...the team I gave my People's Choice ticket to won the Best Overall.

I had Roberto’s about a month ago. It was excellent. The sausage was so flavorful.

Dempsey’s is OK, but not as great as some proclaim. My favorite is prob the “duck” and sausage at Chimes. For seafood gumbo, it’s Don’s, no doubt.
