Middle eastern versus Mediterranean food, look at a map
Umm, here is a map. And it shows the Middle East is all over the Mediterranean

No way cuisine between Greece and Turkey overlap. Pretty much opposite sides of the globe.

Sure there is some overlap but why call Middle eastern food Greek food?

There is overlapping in greek, turkish, Lebanese.

There is overlapping in Lebanese, Israeli, middle eastern.

It all falls under Mediterranean usually. In the eastern Mediterranean region I get people probably get defensive about the distinction.

...and if you keep reading about the difference between middle eastern versus Mediterranean Food. You would have read that when it comes to food, Middle Eastern Food is considered food from the east side of the Mediterranean to extend to Iraq, known as Persian. Food considered Mediterranean would be from European dissent.

They are not the same. Keep reading about the differences and try cooking recipes from both areas. You will see MANY seasonings are not the same. I am glad to see your map highlights what is considered middle eastern food. When you continue to read about the difference those ME restaurants added “Greek” To their name bc ME food was not appealing since we in the USA are more accustomed to European food not ME food.

On a side note, Albasha which was my first taste of What is called Lebanese Food in the late ‘90’s, the owner I believe is from the country Jordan considered Middle eastern. Greece is not. Mr. Gyro was my first Greek restaurant. 2 different seasonings 2 different flavor profiles.

Israeli and Lebanese food are Middle Eastern food. Most of the restaurants in Baton Rouge that people refer to as Lebanese food are not even owned by people of Lebanese descent.

People seem to think that Lebanese food is vastly different than other food in the region. Most of the food in the region is very similar other than Persian which is a lot different and a lot more complex.
