Hunan's run by a cardboard cut-out you can pose with for photos.

I'm always amazed at how consistent his impossibly beaming smile is whether he's with Skip and Sandy or sneaking into a picture with Dick Cheney

I'm not sure what message he tries to convey with all the photos. Perhaps he thinks that we'll find the food to be better tasting since the owner's met some well known folks. Maybe it's an extreme nutcase of narcissism. No matter what, he sure makes his dentist proud.

The Dickey Cheney one cracked me up. Cheney's being shuffled off by his entourage and Jeffrey sneaks his head in front and snaps a photo probably a second before Secret Service agents hauled him off for questioning. But his smile is the same as it is in all the other photos.

I love Bay Leaf. My Indian neighbor helped explain all the dishes to me and let me know to eat some yogurt with the dishes to help soothe the belly from all the spices.
I need to try Rama.
I don't get the love for Ichiban. I do think Sushi Yama is better than Ichiban.

When we're in L.A. or San Fran all of the good Chinese joints do the same thing.....walls are plastered with pics of famous people visiting the place.
I guess it's something Chinese restaurants do.

I'm eating my leftovers from yesterday now for a late lunch. I'll now be checking the fridge for some Yoplait shortly...

Again, I confess to being a relative novice when it comes to sushi. Japanese food was the genre I felt the least comfortable with on this thread.
I have not tried Sushi Yama...is that on Perkins, sort of by where Counter Culture is and the shopping center with Italian Pie?

One more note: No Tex-Mex. Too much "Tex" to call it ethnic. And none of it is good enough in this town anyway.
Coyote Blues is plenty good!

Took up the recommendation of some on this board and went to Sushi Yama last night and it made a good first impression. The fish was fresh, the sushi chef friendly and helpful and willing to give us things to try.
Outstanding and I'll be back.
I'm still not the one to rate sushi places compared to others on this board, but it was impressive.
Dim Sum's next on the agenda. Maybe later today, we'll see.
