Im trying to do my research before I make a purchase. Any advice is appreciated

Remember that beans and rice require water so if you also are short on water you will have to sacrifice it to prepare food. ETA: you also need alot of heat to boil water so fuel requirements and it takes awhile to cook.

How long are you wanting the food to last? I always keep some dehydrated meals on hand. They don’t last as long as some other meals described as “survival” food, but we eat them while camping/backpacking so we don’t need to store them for years.

Check out Packit Gourmet.

This is my favorite meal from them.
