Dorothy's on Gardere near Burbank has my vote. Plenty for your money and so much flavor.

The picture captions tell the whole story
“Poor man’s red beans for a lil light lunch haha. $5.52 it hit the spot”
“Forgot to take a pic before digging in”
“Fried fish plate with mac and cheese and green beans which are covered”

Seems kind of pricey. I thought soul food plates were supposed to be $7-$8 , not $10+

Maaaaaaaaaaaan, I used to work at the Associated Grocer's warehouse in undergrad and Dorothy's used to fill the trunk of an old towncar and drive over on Sundays. shite was so fricking good - red beans, smothered chicken, smothered pork chops...whatever they had was money.

Dorothy's is the best.
I also like Chicken Shack, Cafe Express, Stockyard Cafe, Perk's, N&Out
