I was not that impressed with it. They don't offer many choices. I can see how the place hold near to those who grew up in the area, but I'd rather go elsewhere.
I judge a place especially a place in GA on pulled pork. The Old Brick Pit knows what it does well (pulled pork) and doesnt stray from it.

Yes, that is the one I called BBQ 1 above. I agree with you.

According to this article, 4 of the top 6 stem from "Sam and Dave's BBQ-1" in Marietta, which split into Sam's BBQ-1 and Dave Poe's, and the guys at Community-Q and Grand Champion both worked at Sam and Dave's.
Top 10 BBQ Spots according to Atlanta Magazine
Many on this Top 10 list have been mentioned here in this thread already.
I wasn't exactly a fan of Heirloom when i went.
I like Fox Bros. better than heirloom, but it is definitely over-hyped ... it's my go-to for taking the Wife and Kids though. The boys like sitting outside and watching the trains go by.
Whoever says Fat Matt's cannot be trusted. That place is hot trash. It's boiled ribs finished on a grill, not BBQ. I don't even think they claim to be BBQ, just a "Rib Shack," and not a good one IMO.
