Flying up to Boston in a couple weeks to golf and catch a game at fenway along with a few days on Nantucket. Going to trade a 6 pack of beers only available in LA with my buddy who's going to hook me up with a sixer of excellent MA brews to stash in my golf bag on the way home.

He undoubtedly has the upper hand with the quality exclusives that he has available to him in the northeast, so what 6 beers could I possibly put together in the next couple weeks to rival his selection?

Thanks for any advice!

he will drink anything as long as its good, but mainly I see him talking about the New England IPAs he gets at Tree House or places like that. Also likes stouts like KBS.

Ghost, Luddite, Jucifer, flippy flop (because it is what NOLA has out from their Hi Wire series until this weekend), Envie, urban south something.

All hoppy NE style IPAs.

Other options if you want to branch out on style.

Ghost, Envie, Holy Roller & Jucifer are my favorite LA brews. If u just took him Ghost it would be a fair trade for whatever he has.... if you only wanted to bring him LA beer.

Rhinestone Life from GRB would also be a good one to add.

Don’t be intimidated. I trade weekly for TH, OH, EQ, HV or most any other beers across the country. Louisiana beers are as good or better. Cheers!!!

No. No they are not. And it’s not even close.

Locals usually have an inflated image in their head, right?

I'd round that out with a Grace & Grit.

For the 6th, I'd cheat a bit (on the state and the style) and get a Southern Pecan, just because it's such a unique beer to the south.

No problem with loving your local stuff. Louisiana's beer scene has dramatically improved since I moved away about 5-6 years ago.

But saying its equal to or better than Tree House?

Yes. 10 years ago abita was a good beer in my mind. That precludes me from knowing anything about beer now.

It’s not like I pass Trillium every day on my way to work or anything.
