downtown Specs on Smith said they were the only Specs store that got any and sold out fast. D&Q said they got some with the same result.

I think I remember hearing about this now. I'm not sure what they got out of the bats but I'll give it a try. Especially if it's helping the soldiers.

Probably the leftover pieces on each end after the turning? Marucci in town sells them as smoking wood and I want to say one of the breweries around experimented with the end pieces in their beer.

of course, some smartass will come along and pine about the days when beers were aged on the old bats. Gave the beers a unique "ping"
