I like suggestions of new stuff to try, like Boo's Oaked Arrogant Bastard. Also, there may be something that I've had and liked, but didn't think of, like Houston's Tremens suggestion.

fair enough, have you ever been to Wayne's Package on I65, dude has a nice selection of beer.

A common symptom of delirium tremens is to have visions of pink elephants

Interesting. I'll have to look out for that. What's it like?

And no, I won't be in Belgium any time soon.

I haven't. I used to go to Diplomat Deli or the Bluff Park Piggly Wiggly when I was buying. Dave's or the J.Clyde if we were going out and I was in a beer drinking mood.

One of these was in that picture that you hate me for. It was a pretty awesome imperial stout, if you want something different. It wasn't available before you got the sperm poisoning.

I think I've tried that but I can't remember. I have a friend that used to get me stuff from Houston all the time before the beer laws changed here.

Awww, baby Bham's getting excited by the beer talk. It's a proud day.

And I should be able to get that here. I'll put it on the list for my researchers to test.

Probably cheaper to fly to belgium....or amsterdam. I had a Westy 12 about a week ago in Brugge.....a Westy 8 in Amsterdam a few days before that.

Nah, I can get probably a 6-pack but it'll be about $20 per beer. Plus some shipping.

And this still might be my all-time favorite beer:

I was just in Chicago, and didn't get a change to try this one... I'm still pissed I didn't go to the goose island pub

That's not bad. I paid 10 euro ($12.50) for the 8 in Amsterdam at a bar. The 12 in Brugge was only 8 euro I suppose because it's easier to get in belgium. It's very good beer, very complex with a lot of different flavors.

The Orval, which you can get in the states....I can find it in Dallas at Belgian beer bars.....is very dry with tastes of slight coriander followed by a big apricot finish....slightly hoppy....more so than other trappists.

The westvleteren is super complex...too many flavors for me to describe. The Westvleteren 12 is considered by many to be the best beer in the world....for what that's worth.

It's not HORRIBLE... not when you look at what people pay per ounce for the best wines and liquors in the world... but still, it's a lot to pay for beer.

You should check out Wayne's, it is right before you enter Blount county. It's a drive, but the best selection I have seen here in Bham.
