Stone.
There isn't a Green Flash beer that I'd pick up over Stone. And that's not a knock on Green Flash.
Stone Ruination 10th Anniversary ranks in the top 5 IPA's I've ever had. Their 15th Anniversary was amazing. I would kill for them to make these 2 again.
Stone's Imperial Russian Stout blows Green Flash's Double Stout out of the water.

I don't drink enough of either brand to call one better honestly, but the few I've tasted from stone don't blow my socks off---i haven't had their speciality annual releases though...My guess is they both have some good offerings and some meh offerings...the beer consumer is in a position to enjoy the best that both have to offer.

I think other factors, such as freshness of the beer, weather, how thirsty we are, our mood, and even what we've been eating affect the way a beer tastes to us.

not a huge fan of either one to be honest... I prefer bear republic over both...I do pick up stone ruination time to time a
Not a fan of bear republic, way too many meh beers in their line up. I dont think they are even in the same league as stone and gf.
If we got stones special releases i would probably lean that way. I'd pick wc ipa over any of stones regular ipas.

well I haven't had many of BR's lineup but I think Hop Rod Rye may be the best tasting beer I've ever tasted. *may be*

Bear Republic is my favorite brewery. I love Hop Rod Rye, Racer 5 and Tribute Ale. Anyone know if they distribute in TX? Sad to see them leave LA.

Yes they are big time in Houston...readily available are Hop Rod Rye , Racer 5 and sometimes other offerings

Didnt you just go to russian river?
Seems like a silly statement.

RR has some great tasting beers, no lie, but I'm telling you I absolutely love the taste of hop rod rye. love it.

To each their own, but you're nuts, lol.

Racer 5 is solid, but the other BR beers fail to impress me.
8 wired is a better brewery IMO.

here is the only way to settle this...rutiger, you send me a bottle of everything Russian River makes and I'l do a personal blind maven tasting test at my house against hop rod rye and we will see who wins? DEAL? WILL YOU TAKE THE TEST?

Um, you were just the one at russian river, not me.

Exactly.

Their IPA defines the west coast IPA style
Hmmm, not sure I would go that far, but I see what you are saying. I prefer Race 5 to Stone.
I would drink the following IPAs before a Stone if all else was equal (no DIPA):
Blind Pig
Racer 5
West Coast IPA
then its Stone/Lagunitas
For some reason I just don't drink a ton of Stone anymore. Not sure why that is...

RYNO...you been drinking this AM???
Posted on 3/25/13 at 2:22 pm to BMoney
Lol...I would not "pick" hop rod rye over pliny, I think pliny is awesome...now blind pig? Its very good and I would have to taste again side by side to verify. Why can't I enjoy them all?
Haha...no argument there
