Thank you all as well as anyone that continues to suggest. My kid and their friends eat at The Chimes at least once or twice a week.
Consensus is landing on Parrains. From what I can see if their menu it looks promising to me.
Thanks again

No it’s not hip and trendy but they crank out solid seafood consistently. Besides you may be able to pick up a sugar gram-mama

Not the greatest, but still real damn good! Went there for dinner tonight on a whim, split the sauteed crab fingers and seafood platter between my wife and I. 50 bucks well spent

Driving into Baton Rouge Saturday to take my college freshman and a couple friends to early dinner. They would like seafood. Needs to be casual enough for a college age kid BUT I don’t want to eat off of plastic. Let’s say tops $35 a plate before dessert.
Where would you send us?
Take them down to Roberto's. Short drive south of campus and very good seafood dishes as well as other creole dishes.

Thank you again everyone for the recommendations
We made it to Perrains. Each of us had something different and everything was good. I had the Thin Cut Catfish and Shrimp. Haven’t had fried food in probably a year so this was my splurge. They both were fried perfectly and seasoned great. Nice sized shrimp and the catfish was really thin and crispy just like I like it. Very delicious.
