I have an understanding of Baton Rouge's history with blue laws, etc., but it astounds me how restaurants today can sit absolutely idle on Sundays, which could very well be their biggest money making days. McDonald's began opening up for breakfasts for instance only because they realized the potential of the building merely sitting there each morning. The small business owners sure need a day off, but to be absolutely closed on Sundays doesn't seem to be a wise decision.

They really do work their asses off and need at least one day off.
It is usually wise for small place to either close Sunday or Monday.

A lot of folk in s.la still use Sunday's for family get togethers and parties.
Plus many people (not me) are home on the weekends and therefore have the time to cook for themselves.
Sunday makes perfect sense for a small restaurant to be closed, especially a family owned one.

Yeah I was pretty happy to hear about it the other day. They told me August, but didn't specify when in August.

Provo, Sandy, anywhere around there, except that Baton Rouge has a Tigerland and sobriety checkpoints. Mix the two and you're fricked. The only drawback here is that you can't get one of those orgasmic Marie Callender's desserts like you can in the valley.

It's even worse in lafayette. When I go in to visit my family on weekends I basically have Sat to get in whatever restaurants I want to visit.
