And here I thought it was a serious question.

as did i; for the record, my response was actually a serious response... ...and i don't support the OP's interpretation of my comment...

Asking her if there is someplace she would like to go is always an option.

ask her what she digs or if there is a new place she wants to check out always gets ya brownie points. if she is a sensible girl, she will not pick a super expensive place.

I think it would depend on what she is in the mood for...

A good sushi place... Icheban
Fluer De Lis for pizza... Fleur De Lis Pizza
A good Mexican place for Margaritas... La Carreta
A place she may not have been to... Hawk's Nest (Fairway View Club used to be my out of the way place)

But...I would go with Acme Oyster House!

It was a serious question. Just making a little funny...

acme, chimes, parrains, capital city grill. used all of these and if in a month or so its going well then hit a digulios or someting mid range, and wait for fine dining only if its very serious.

first date should be hanging out drinking a few beers and shooting the shite, acme and chimes are solid choices

Robertos

Menu looks good. I've never even heard of it.

I was just searching for some ideas that hadn't popped in to my head. Just got out of a long relationship, and the last few dates have been umm "my friends and I are going out to the .... you should come". I don't think this chick is in to the 2:00 shut down the bar scene.
Chelsea's I think will be a solid pick. ACME food sucks and I agree w/ the previous poster about Chimes being a group date place. Plus I worked there in college.

we aren't use to that around here. whenever we get an OT like response, the F&D board freezes up like a deer in the headlights....

I know. And why I usually appreciate the ability to get serious answers and give serious responses on this board. I let one slip though.

Pinettas isn't what it used to be before the change in ownership 10 years ago but it is still money and a cheap place to make a girl melt because it appears to be a classier place than it is.

depends on the girl. a guy and i went there after we had been dating awhile and we both judged that place harshly. same thing iwth diguilo brothers.
