If you are smoking it, it won't do you any good. It doesn't really get hot enough to melt it. I had a cousin find that out the hard way.
I really need to know what your cousin thought was unmelted butter in this turkey

Me either...then I remembered this girl I "dated" in college who thought that if you tapped a bottle of Heinz ketchup directly on the raised 57 that is on the bottle, the ketchup would come out faster. Yeah, she wasn't that bright (but she was fun!)
Thanks for my laugh for the day.
You should call that girl up and apologize.
I don't know if you could have explained that ketchup is a non-Newtonian shear-thinning liquid and how that makes the "trick" work but she was absolutely correct. While hitting the bottle on the bottom usually works faster tapping it on the neck (which happens to be where the raised 57 is) is the most controllable because you can avoid causing too large of a shear fracture.

I told her that it probably does come out faster tapping the bottle on the neck like that, but she couldn't comprehend that you don't have to actually tap it directly on the 57. She was pretty insistent about it and I wanted to get laid so I didn't argue.

No, turkey is turkey.

I believe a turkey is a turkey
A turkey is indeed a turkey.
A few years ago I was craving more turkey after Thanksgiving and wanted to be fancy about it. I went to Iverstines and bought one of their expensive-arse turkeys for something absurd. LIke $50 or $60.
I brined it, seasoned it, and roasted it to absolute perfection.
It was delicious and tasted no different than the 16-lb turkey I had gotten for free with the purchase of a $25 ham.
Lessons were learned that day.
