What kind do you have? Do you like it? How often do you use it? Pain in the arse to clean?

I think about beer too much. I thought your thread title was "Anyone Own a Jucifer?", then I was really confused by your OP.

I had an Omega juicer for the last two years, but recently gave it to a friend when I was moving and didn't have much space. I've also owned a breville before.

The brevile I used a decent amount. 3 or 4x a week... it's all a matter of if you're going to juice or not. The clean up for that machine (can't remember model) took probably 8 minutes? Lots of pieces but just clean it right away and it'll be fastest.

I preferred my Omega... think more of a wheatgrass type juicer that extracts more. I got if off of Craigslist for $125 which I thought was a pretty good deal. The difference was that the hole for the produce was smaller, so I had to cut my stuff smaller.. this would take more time. Instead of cutting an apple in 1/4 I'd do it 1/8. I thought the cleanup for this machine was much more efficient.. this made me use it more often. I'd use it also 4-5 days a week

They aren't THAT big of a deal to clean... but you do need to do it right away and there are quite a few pieces. If you have your mind set on juicing, it's worth the investment.. especially if your other go-to is the juice from stores which has lost a lot of its vitamin content.

I'm currently looking for an Omega again, thinking of just biting the bullet and paying for one instead of trolling Craigslist til one pops up for cheap

Breville = save time cutting produce not as small, cleanup is not bad
Omega = smaller produce so more time cutting, more juice gotten from produce.

are you planing on juicing on the regular? what's your goal? Damn I miss fresh carrot/celery juice in the morning

Juicing can take less than 30 minutes. Plan ahead and it won't be a big deal

Breville. Loved it and used it a ton, but haven't used it in a couple of years. Throw everything in the dishwasher so it's pretty easy to clean.

Thanks a lot for all that info.

My wife likes drinking fresh juices when we see a place that has them but some servings can run $10 a piece for a fairly small thing. I think it would be nice to do fresh orange/apple juice or whatever instead of store bought crap.

I think my wife would like it a whole lot as she has done juice cleanses and really likes fresh juice.

Even if you only use it 3x a week it's worth the investment imo

And it even looks like the juice would store a couple days so I could make orange juice on Friday for the weekend. Am I right?

I have a breville. It's a novelty. It's just as expensive to buy juice from a store and you don't have to clean the machine.

If you have access to lots of produce that isnt store bought it would be worthwhile.

I own a kuving and love it. We'll put it away for a month and then use it for weeks at a time-juices all veggies and fruits. It only takes 2-3 minutes to clean, but it is a bit of a pain to clean the sifter. I also owned a lalanne and it was the same for good and bad. A good juicer is worth the money though.

Have a juicer, pain in the arse to clean.

Went straight to the Vitamix and throw the veggies in there. Juice plus fiber = win?

I have the Cuisinart CCJ-500 juicer. I have many fruit trees and during the winter months make orange/satsuma juice weekly.

Anyone on here saying you don't have to worry about cleaning it, or you can throw everything in the dishwasher clearly hasn't used their juicer very often. I have a Breville BJE510XL. If you don't clean the cutting disk after every use the pores will eventually clog rendering your juicer unusable. This is the biggest pain in the arse, especially if you're using it daily. All of the other parts can washed in the dishwasher but if you neglect properly cleaning the disk, you might as well toss the whole machine because a replacement part costs about the same as the entire unit. Once the pores in your cutting disk get clogged, everything starts backing up. Your "juice" will be pulpy sludge and your waste container will contain more juice than your juice container. It's damn near impossible to unclog the pores once they are clogged.

It's true that a juicer needs to be immediately cleaned. I haven't ever used dishwasher on it, unless it was a situation where I'd already cleaned the blade and filter and just wanted some extra sanitation.

But I've never used a juicer that required more than 8 minutes of clean up time. Ever.

Okay wait I take that back, when I worked at Whole Foods we had an industrial sized juicer (you guys really shouldn't buy juice from there...) and it took a solid hour to clean. Now THAT is a pain in the arse.

I use the Breville Cold Juicer. Don't remember the model number but it's quick and very easy to clean. I can juice and have it sparking clean in 5-10 minutes
