Anyone own a coffee pot that grinds the beans?

I've grown to really like the Race Trac coffee and was wondering if there is something similar on the market.

Only one I had always gave me trouble plugging because steam backed up the chute.

Just buy a separate grinder. You can get a decent one for like $20 and it takes 20 seconds to bring your beans. Makes a world of difference in the quality of your morning coffee

I had a Cuisinart that had a hopper for grinding the beans before each brew. It worked well for many years.

To the poster that said the steam backed up the grinder; you have to clean out the grinder part periodically to keep things moving.

Love the new racetrac coffee. May be some of the best I have ever drank.

I love it as well. Pilot gas stations have them now as well.

It was about every other day. Wasnt a big deal to clean it, but if I forgot it resulted in crap thin coffee.

This.

You’re not going to find a machine that does two simple things well, with automation. Just the unfortunate truth. Get the $20 grinder.

I just bought a Delonghi Magnifica XS. It makes espresso and coffee.

Grinds the beans every time.

Wife got me a grinder for Christmas.

holds 1/2 pound of beans up top and can grind 4 different amounts. Takes about 20 seconds to grind. The aroma from the coffee as soon as i hit the grind button lights up the kitchen. We use a french press so im able to grind the beans a little more coarse and has made French Pressing much nicer as well.

Do you clean out your grinder every day? I have been but it's a bit of a pain. I'd like to switch to about once a week unless that will make it clog up.

My wife has had this grinder for almost exactly 2 years...I don't know that she's ever done any cleaning of the thing, and it's been used every day at least once.

Krups Burr Grinder

FWIW, this is the brewer she uses. Again, bought them both in December of '17 and they've both been flawless:

I've got a Saeco Odea Go and I absolutely love it.

Of course I could probably make a better cup by grinding and French press and all that stuff, but I hit the button in the morning for it to start heating and 30 seconds later it's knocking out me a fresh grinded cup of coffee before I have time to go piss and make it back to the machine.

I have this one Cuisinart Grind & Brew

Makes decent coffee and is super easy, I use it almost every weekday morning.

That being said it is definitely not going to be as good as a good grinder with a quality maker (French press is ideal for my tastes). But for me, with a 1yr old, is perfect for good easy coffee on a busy morning

ETA: and you can find it at a good price, I can't bring myself to pay $500+ for a coffee maker

You mean press it, which is filtering out the grinds, then put it thru a paper filter? No way. The sediment isn't that much and I like the extra body. Just have to have enough self control to leave that last sip or so in the cup

Yes. I don't care for that extra sediment.
