Went for the 1st time this weekend.

Negatives:
Soft drinks - no fountain drinks...$2.50 for each 8 oz glass. It's unbelievable the profit they are missing out on with no having fountain drinks. I looked around and most people were drinking water.

Pulled pork - ok...lots of fat in it. I have had better at City Pork and even Voodoo

Positives:
St. Louis Ribs - very good...lots of meat and seasoned well
Lemon meringue pie - not as huge as Carrot cake I saw other table got but very good.

no soft drink refills unlike every restaurant in the nation in the last 30 years

They charge for water refills too?

Slightly off-topic ...

But I recently went to a local, then regional and now national chain restaurant ...

Ordered a combo meal. Drink and fries are included. I asked for a bottle of water ... no extra cost, this can be substituted for a fountain drink ... and a cup of ice.

I was charged for the cup of ice. Twenty-three cents. The "ice" would have been included if I would have ordered a fountain drink ... but apparently not with a bottle of water. Doesn't make sense. Won't stop me from ordering this again, but found it rather a strange and peculiar pricing strategy.

I am not going back to BRQ until they get fountain drinks and know others that are saying the same thing.

I'm floored by just how upset people are about fountain drinks

Absurd rationale, drink a larger bottle of mexican coke for .50 cents more, problem solved! Or drink water or tea, free refills!

Side note: majority of fountain drinks have black mold and other disgusting things in them.

The soft drink situation seems to be the least of their problems and the most readily fixable.

I hope they work on their brisket problem. No restaurant that claims to be a BBQ place should put out brisket like I was served Saturday night.

I have a hard time believing that brisket was prepared on site.

It is a very nice space and it was slammed when I went. I was hoping for something better and maybe they need a little more time to work out the kinks. I wish them much luck.

Terrible brisket. Dry. Sliced too thin. May as well have beef jerky.

Now, this is brisket. Moist. Fatty. Flavorful. And sliced just right.
