Do a search on them for this board. The topic has been brought up recently by a few posters

my parents do home chef. I have tried a couple of their and they are pretty good and my mom really likes not having to shop.

But its pretty expensive for still having to cook your own food.

I like home chef. You get to choose out of 9-12 options each week. Some are hit or miss though.

I know people that like it, but this is the impression I get every time I look into it.

I'm probably one of the more wasteful people when it comes to excessive use of throw away paper and plastic products (paper towels for everything, paper plates for lunch, ziplock bags instead of tupperware, etc) but the amount of trash I had to deal with while using Blue Apron seemed really excessive. Plus there are going to be nights when you don't want to cook but you feel obligated since you have the ingredients. It just became a little too cumbersome for our two person household.

My woman got a free trial of Hello Fresh so we got 3 free meals last week. They were 3 meals that I wouldn't have ever dreamed up cooking or eating, but we enjoyed them and it was nice to not go to the grocery store. Plus we had a good time "cooking" them together. I mean its really easy step by step instructions. It's hardly any food though. Don't think you'll have leftovers. We just did the two person and I was still hungry. The protein you get with each meal is tiny. If its chicken its like 1 chicken breast sliced in half. Fish was two small fillets. Fun for free. I wouldn't pay $60 a week or whatever absurd amount it is.

I've been doing Hello Fresh for a couple months and enjoy it. Sure, you could go to the grocery and spend less than $10 per meal but it's convenient and you get to try some stuff you normally wouldn't cook.

I just ordered a week of blue apron, and a week of hello fresh. With the discount, six meals for two people cost about $40.00. It is difficult for me to prepare that many meals with similar ingredients for that cost.

However, I fully intend on cancelling after this "trial." $60.00 per week is more than I would like to spend.

so i don't eat much for breakfast, and my job usually has breakfast foods available.
lunch i typically skip.
it's tempting to sign up and try it because i hate grocery shopping and...
$60/week on food would be pretty nice. plus, it'll teach my lazy arse how to cook something better than just tacos, burgers, and pasta.

also.. i'm sort of a small person. is the meat just a small amount for a grown man? could it satisfy a smaller appetite?

i'm excited. thinking about having my first week delivered saturday.

OH... for those who used hello fresh... did you get to choose the specific meals they sent you from the weekly list? or was it their choice? i have some dietary restrictions and allergies.

I might turn it on for next week. The burger and chicken chili looks pretty damn good

The first week I did it flavors were a bit much for my pregnant wife. Indonesian salmon, pibil pork- was a bit much
