Me and mine have been cooking up a storm lately and I’ve had them in there basically doing everything. I will say mine can cook a hell of a lot better than most kids there age and will definitely leave the house knowing how to do more than heat up ramen. I think being in the kitchen all working toward a common task (the food) is an great bonding experience too.

One of my regrets is not having the kids do much, if any cooking. My daughter did some baking, but my sons didn't do much of anything. They spent so much time playing sports and whatnot we just didn't get them in the kitchen. Big mistake.
Wish I would have gotten them in the woodworking shop also.
