If Barcadia closes it’s entirely a management issue (a la Fox and Hound). The concept worked fine early on and when Curbside was running the food.

Don Jose.
I went about 4 or 5 times since they opened and there's never more than a couple of tables of people. Maybe they do well at lunch though.

That would suck. I love it. Every time I've been there are plenty of people, although yeah never "packed". Then again, any Mexican restaurant besides Superior or Ninfas when it was around is the same. I don't think I've ever had to wait for a table at a Mexican restaurant other than those.
Went today, and they removed a lot of their games. The "patio" is a junkyard with nothing to do.
Disappointing because I think the concept is really cool. There's not a whole lot for adults to do on a day off that doesn't involve either going somewhere with tons of kids.. or sitting somewhere and drinking. Barcadia had the potential to be a really fun spot to hang out.

I think the building owner is the one that owns Bleachers. Not having a lease/landlord will probably be enough to keep it open a couple a years. Especially since that's one of the major issues in that area with building owners trying to ramp up lease costs.
I didn't realize this. Even without a lease, he has to be losing his arse. I've never seen more than one or two people there at any time or day.

Until recently I would've agreed with you, however, I think they have a very strange, yet loyal, clientele.

This is why I don't think they'll make it. It's good food, but nobody is ever there.
Also, how the frick does the Wienerschnitzel at the North Gates stay open? There is no way the ghetto supports it that well.

Shrimp Basket on Perkins
I don't see it making it much longer.
Went yesterday and they told me they had to change the gumbo recipe.
The boiled shrimp and potatoes were good though!

So do I. We affectionately called it "the dungeon" towards the end, but it was a good watering hole.

It's an institution like Frostop on Government. Those places will never go down.

I wonder how the barcadia in NOLA is doing? Why would they remove the games? Are people not playing them?

A general note for that area though:
The owners of Perkins Palms stopped trying to collect a parking fee for the paved lot they just built (that they overpaid the bank dearly for). The gate is just stuck open now. So, if you were wanting to go to Olive-or-Twist or Rum House but didn't want to get stuck in the dirt lot, now is your chance.

They didn't remove them all, but they removed probably 50% of what was there when they opened. And the ones they kept are all squeezed into a very small room. It is weird.
I guess not. They also added like 8 daiquiri machines that are located in the back bar where no bartender works. They added them during football season.
Definitely a bit of an identity crisis going on over there.

Different pool of peeps. Nola location gets a ton tourists.

NOLA location has a lot more disposable income within a 10 block radius. Couple times I went it was packed with young professionals drinking expensive drinks.
I'm sure some tourists make there way, but it isn't a touristy bar.
