I've been watching this YouTube channel Sam the cooking guy and he makes some delicious looking stuff. Most of this stuff is on a Evo flat top grill. Is there something cheaper I can use that will work well?

Already have a Weber Genesis. Should I get a flat side grate or are those crap?

Why not get a cast iron griddle? Can be used on any grill so long as it fits...

Can't think of any reason why a special grill would be needed just to get a flat work space.

Blackstone Griddle Theres a thread on the Food & Drink Board that gives some info. Google search should show some results.

Comes in 2 different sizes.

That's the one that Robert from DMFD mentioned getting pretty recently, right? Looks pretty sweet if you are going to have a true outdoor kitchen for sure.

Cuisinart just came out with a clone that I'm sure isn't anywhere near as nice, but I have been wondering the same thing:

At $225, it's pretty darn cheap. I've looked at it at Wal-Mart and while it looks fairly cheaply made, I don't know that it looks any more basic than the blackstone, which I think is a pretty great product. The burners underneath the griddle look legit. The cooktop is steel instead of cast iron on the EVO, btw.
