Cooking a small bird for a few people. My oven has a air fryer built in. Anyone have any advice or experience with this. Thanks in advance.

An air fryer is, by definition, a counter top convection oven.

With that being said, just look for instructions on using a convection oven to cook your turkey.

You'll probably need to baste the skin pretty often if air frying.

I went to an oil-less probably 15 years ago and haven't looked back.

Big Easy

Takes longer than oil frying but IMHO the finished product is better. I would think air frying and the Big Easy are close to the same concept.

Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

It’s a hell of a poultry cooker.

It’s between this and smoked. Deep fried turkey is a distant 4th behind those and oven roasted.

we've used one of these before to air fry a turkey, came out fantastic, you can also drape bacon or other stuff on top of the turkey while it's cooking for extra flavor

It’s always a disappointment when you see an “oil less” or air fried turkey. Give me a smoked or actually fried bird.

I'm on board with smoked.

Deep fried is my least favorite preparation of turkey in addition to being the most expensive and time consuming method. Y'all can keep your fried turkeys.

To each their own, but oil less or air fried isn’t a replacement for a fried bird. Think they have more in common taste wise with an electric or propane smoker without the smoke generator being used. Just give me the smoked bird instead.
