I was going to order a shrimp poboy today, $16.99 for a shrimp poboy. Last time I ordered from them it was $9.99 for a large shrimp.
Politics aside, do y’all think food prices are ever going to come down?

I got charged 20 bucks for an oyster poboy a couple months ago at a local seafood market. I didn’t complain, but I haven’t been back since.
This isn’t sustainable.

Neither is a large portion of our seafood industry.

Do the prices ever really go back down? Beyond the food price it a lot of other things that go into it. The labor price is way up and not going back down. Food and Labor went up at the same time. They started adding fuel charges when the gas prices skyrocketed, but they still were charging them when gas prices fell.

From what I've seen in some of the sandwich shops I've been to, a shrimp po-boy dressed is going to run $14 and up and an oyster is at least $2-$3 higher everywhere I've been.
Hell, roast beef po-boys are averaging $12 with ham & cheese averaging around $10.
