And I'll finally have a beer that I brewed to share at the AA meeting tomorrow. About damn time, huh?

Which one do you have? I have some 22 oz. bottles for you as well, remind me and I'll bring them tomorrow.

The peanut butter chocolate stout. I've got a bottle with your name on it as well.

Fantastic.

Do you have a recipe for it? Did you do extract with steeped grains?

Bingo! Steeped grains were:

1 lb 6-row malt
1 lb rolled oats
1.6 lb chocolate malt
4 oz carapils
8 oz roasted barley
8 oz caramel 120°L

That's a lot of steeping grains... I'll probably try to do a similar recipe to yours for my next beer, just minus the peanut butter. Except it'll be my first all-grain attempt.

This FBD tailgate-will maps be provided? You know I never show up empty handed!

My friend's son that just got back from beer school in Chicago said they aren't brewing at Goose Island anymore. I thought AB would leave them alone for at least a little while.

homebrew hijack:

to get a thicker stout, or more of an imperial or russian stout, I assume you have to start with a higher OG. I also assume this is done (with extract) by starting with more extract, not neccesarily with more steeping grain. Is that right?

I think this is right, but I'll defer to the people who have been brewing a lot longer than me.
