It's the fairly new oyster bar downtown in BR. We hit it last night before I headed home.
We sat at the bar. The larger dining room caught most of the crowd....lots of post work suits....suits scare me. I like overalls, jeans , and camo. I had on jeans.
Server and shucker were good. Server was chatty and sweet. I think she was more interested in chatting with my son. The dishes came out on time with good service.
Rotating our orders, we had two dozen each East Coast and Gulf oysters. They were excellent. The Gulf oysters were larger, all were salty and plump, with the East Coast getting a slight nod from my son on flavor. Didn't order the West Coast variety...I've never had a WC oyster that I liked compared to EC oysters or Gulf in season.
We had rotations of Bienville, Rockefeller, and chargrilled. All presentations were good. The Rock were light on anise and heavy on the breadcrumbs...no problem with me. The Bienville had good spice. Both of these recipes were large servings per item and filling. The chargrilled were heavy on cheese, not over cooked, and generally a good recipe.
We didn't try other items on the menu. I'll go back.

Ha. Short unexpected trip to the LSU Vet Clinic Cardiology unit for a lab.(Yellow "special needs dog", not red dog.) Was out of sorts all damn day, bud.

The EC variety was Wellfleet oysters, by the way. Not cheap, but I don't get to eat them every week...they were very tasty.
