What I found is that each gate is 28ft.

Did not find anything out on how wide so let's take what we do know. It's 4,000 feet long and has 125 gate bays. If we divide 4000 by 125 we get 32.

BUT, there are pillars (sp?) between each and I'm going to say they are 12 inches so what would that make the width? 4000 ft minus 2 feet for each would give us 4000 - (125 X 2).

THEN divide that by number of bays (125) = 30.

Someone check my math and method cause I am TURRIBLE at math...serious.

See?

Okay, I just drew 35 to see and get 36 bays- and I do believe there would definitely have to be one more cause they anchor it on the ends. Am I wrong? I HATE math, don't make me hafta think about it.

Got a booklet on the Old River Control structure at the Bonnet Carre Spillway today. It say that the Overbank Structure has 73 bays, each 44 feet wide 3,356 feet long.
