Heading to Shreveport this weekend and I usually take 190 to avoid Lafayette, plus I just prefer the drive (and it's faster). Any reason 190 wouldn't be open at Krotz Springs, etc?

I don't know that it's much faster time-wise. It is definitely shorter distance-wise.

Also, I haven't heard anything about it being closed or even the possibility of it closing.

How much is the reduced speed? Enough to where you would advise avoiding it?

I drove it yesterday all the way to Eunice and it was open, only slow downs was over the spillway LDWF agents were telling people to slow down because of wildlife possibly crossing, I think them and LSP had the speed at 45, hope this helps...

45mph from Lottie to Krotz Springs instead of 60 mph.

ETA: that's a pretty good distance, so judge for yourself

This will be open no problem throughout the Flood Event. Wildlife is still seekeing higher ground however, (Deer, Black Bears, etc.) .. so be careful when doing this drive .. especially during nighttime hours.

I think the speed limit from baton rouge to Opelousas is pretty much 45, 55, and 65. I don't remember any 60.

Yeah, watch your speed before/after Livonia. I got a ticket in the 55 zone yesterday.

Anyone with Point Coupee Parish connections that wants to help me get a ticket fixed? :(

I see a cop in that red gas station every time I drive through Livonia. There's also one in Krotz Springs radaring people driving over the bridge.

I know not to speed through there bc I travel it often but yet I still got a ticket in port barre for the damn inspection sticker. It expired the month before and we never noticed. The cop was actually really nice though bc my wife had let her insurance card and registration expire the month prior and we didn't get tickets for that.
