Well that is somewhat comforting. Still a 3' rise in the GIWW is still going to give people some problems. Especially fabrication yards throughout Houma including my family's. 3' rise in the GIWW will be similar conditions to what we experienced during IKE.

I'm in sugerwood off of 311 and my elevation is 4.052 and worst case according to the army corp is 5ft.

I had 27ft for Katrina so I will not let 1ft take me. SANDBAGS AND AMIGOS BABY!

How far to the back of Sugarwood are you? If they get any flooding in that part of town I would think it would be closer to the Valhi Extension than 311 since there is a canal back there that meets up with bayou black right by water proof.

towards the back and the canal that runs back there and ties into the ponds is little bayou black which runs from Lake Palourde.

I live on Bayou Black Dr between Mulberry and Waterproof. I'm not too concerned. I think we will be fine.

My parents live on the ICWW in Larose. They have a 20x16 deck on the water near the IC draw bridge. My dad is not worried one bit. He was actually on channel 6 news Wednesday morning. They had interviewed him about it.

If my parents and granny have to worry, everyone should be. The corner where Bayou Lafourche and the ICWW meet is one of the highest areas in Lafourche parish, and that is where my granny lives with my parents being 4 houses down.

We will see.

I was about to ask what y'all thought about the chances of Southdown Mandalay seeing any water. My dad always says that our house is in the highest part of town and our slab is about 3 feet off the ground.

But if you aren't worried then I think we will be ok, considering that we are basically across the bayou from you.

One of the few good things about hurricane season...

Now on topic of the flood...my parents live off of 311 pretty damn close to Savanne...says we have elevation of a hair over 5 feet, fingers are crossed!
