If you don't mind answering TNGOP, about how many frames is too many frames for a .gif? I just taught myself how to make gifs and the other night I made about a 30 second gif. it was the scene from alien where the alien pops out except I put Carl, from the walking dead, head on thee alien.
well needless to say, after like 4 hours of working on it, the gif was way too big and once I uploaded it to the googlewebs, it is basically unwatchable it is so choppy, it was about 600+ frames
looked fine when I was making it though, so is there a good judge on how many frames/MB a gif can be before it is too many frames?
edit: and as to not hijack the thread, i'm going to try to make a sandusky gif out of the inglorious basters one

Depends more on file size, and the limits set by your storage site. I have a pretty basic account with Photobucket and it limits my file sizes to no more than 20mb a piece. You can lower quality to cut file size, but I hate to do that so much the gif looks like shite. I try to stay under 400 frames.
