I have a question regarding paint on Windows Vista

I have a logo that I pull up and am trying to change the colors. (background, etc)
When I click on the "paintbucket" icon and then click the background, only a strip turns the desired color as opposed to the whole background.
How do I change colors in bulk on an already existing picture?

P.S. I would obviously post the pic but it's family/political campaign related.

It's probably going to be extremely hard to do with something as little advanced as MS Paint. It sounds like the picture you're working with is pixelated. Maybe have someone here change it to a vector, then it shouldn't be a problem.

This. If that logo is pixelated you're going to need to zoom and basically hand color the entire background yourself. The best thing is the get the biggest, cleanest version of the logo you can for starters. Try to find one where the colors are consistent instead of pixelated. This will make a huge difference.
