I am sure that BP is not the only company to fark images for the purpose of advertising. Celebs do it with cellulite and age signs. Politicians do it to get elected, why does it matter that BP does it?

This was not for the purposes of advertising. "Marketing" or "Positioning" perhaps... but not advertising. The farked image was said to represent their crisis command center... putting all of their resources to bare as BP personnell diligently monitored the situation.
You know - now that I'm thinkin' about it - this was Advertising... FALSE advertising. Only, what... half of those monitors were actually on?
