A question for photographers and Mac users

I just bought a Mac and am now trying to load all of my photos on it. However until now I was using a Dell and would shoot my pictures in RAW format then make my adjustments and convert them over to Jpeg. Does iPhoto on my new Mac recognize Raw format or should I now start shooting in Jpeg?
Thanks for your help!

There are apparently a few cameras using an RAW format are incompatable though. Check the iPhoto Website.

Thanks Tigah
I am an amateur at photography who is trying to learn. I have a Canon eos 20D and was taught how to shoot everything in Raw format. Is this correct? or should I now start shooting in Jpeg in order to use iPhoto? can seem to find this answer on the iPhot site.

Again, shooting RAW shouldn't be a problem.

I run a newspaper and we use macs and Canon cameras. I urge my photographers to shoot in jpeg. We have had some problems with RAW photos in the past.

if you want a great program for photography instead of iPhoto, get Lightroom 2 by Adobe. It's great.
