I am planning on converting this fire truck into a tailgating beast. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a LSU paint scheme idea. All ideas are welcome.

I was thinking about mounting a tv behind the back bed and panit the bottom purple and the top gold with white stripes. I would love to see it LSUed out.

King that things crazy man. Can you put this tiger eye in the others place? I would love to see this tread take off. The truck runs like a champ and I plan to take it to all the home games this year.

I don't have time right now, but I will grab it later...

Where are you going to park that beast?

What size water tank does it have on it? It would be mind blowing if you could intergrate several types of alcohol in seperate compartments where the water tank is and run taps for said alcohol comming out of the pump pannel.

I'll take a whack at it over the next couple days.

As long as we're discussing "Emergency Tailgating Conversions" here... I thought I'd share this piece of work by a fan of my other purple team:

Here's a local news piece with some great footage and complete "tour"

This guy may have some insight into finding some of the vintage light fixtures, etc.... He's got a web page: TCU Frogmobile.

Maybe y'all can have dueling tailgates when LSU meets TCU in 2013 & 2014!

It has a 750 gal tank and a 1000 GPM pump. If any one knows about these pumps and can use one let me know. I showed a few guys the tiger eye and they thought it was a diff fire truck. hahah My crew tailgates at the Vet school so Everyone is welcome to stop by and have a cold one. King can you also post a pic without the 50 cal on top. I like it but my mom freaked out. She's like why would you put one on the truck son. I told her it was for the Bama figs that come to the games. She fist pumped me.

What model number is it? I want a better angle to work with as well as a shot of the front of it (first impressions being important and all).

Is it the same as this one?

ETA:

Or maybe this one...

I wonder if I can talk my city into remodeling one of our old 1979 American LaFrance pumpers like that? Looks great!!

If you looking for other pics. It looks like the truck in question is a late 70's model American LaFrance also.

Thanks for the info Flamefighter. Post (or link to) a straight on front view at least 800px wide and straight on side view of it at least 1200px wide and I'll give it a makeover.

Does one need any kind of special permits/insurance to take a decommissioned fire truck or ambulance out on the streets?

I've seen a few of these on auction sites and always thought firetrucks were made for tailgating.

That's an excellent question... one that may vary from state to state. I'm sure someone here will be able to answer that for you . If not,m get in touch with the Frogmobile guy via the website I linked....
