Alfred Morris is another one I think that won't live up to expectations.

What expectations are those? Again, is this a player that you would consider a "top RB?"

Alfred Morris poses little threat in the pass game, has never been a three-down back, and has eclipsed 1,000 yards in all three seasons he's played.

Solid RB2.

Last year's per week points in a standard league setting

Week 1 - 9.1
Week 2 - 20.5
Week 3 - 7.7
Week 4 - 12.3
Week 5 - 2.9
Week 6 - 4.1
Week 7 - 5.4
Week 8 - 13.3
Week 9 - 21.2
Week 11 - 9.6
Week 12 - 18.5
Week 13 - 6.7
Week 14 - 0.6
Week 15 - 4.9
Week 16 - 8.3
Week 17 - 4.3

No consistency and even less upside in a PPR league.
He finished the season with 37 receptions for 310 yards and 0 touchdowns.

Can't tell if you're agreeing with me / making my point...?

I've just seen his name brought up multiple times in this thread and he is not a RB I would consider a "top RB," as the thread title suggests.

Little threat in the pass game, not a three-down back (Matt Jones will be Roy Helu for Washington), but has eclipsed 1,000 yards each season in the NFL.

There are a few guys that have been mentioned in this thread that are nowhere near a "top RB."

To be honest, I did not see the word "top" in the title.

The only top RB's I am avoiding are McCoy and Forte.

Those are his career stats. He had 17 catches last year

Forte is also gonna disappoint a lot of people this year.

I feel like this too, but Vegas doesn't seem to think so. Over/unders for Forte are:
1100 rushing yds
600 receiving yds
9.5 TDs

I feel like he is in for a big regression, but Vegas having his over/under stats that high makes me reconsider.

There are like 5 top RBs

Get over it for sake of discussion maybe?

Continuing on now that all running backs are in play.

- Anybody from the Tennessee titans
- McFadden
- Jennings (NYG)
- Abullah
- Ivory
- Anybody from the Atlanta Falcons
- Anybody from the Cleveland Browns

FWIW, I would consider a top RB any one that could be an RB1 in a 10- or 12-man league.

Peterson, Bell, Charles, Lynch, Forte, Lacy, Murray, Hill, Anderson, Forsett, and McCoy could all fit in that mold.

That being said, now that it has been established this discussion can encompass any RB, I'm taking Melvin Gordon if he continues to dance his way through holes. Needs to become a straight-line runner to get to the second level. Holes won't open up as easy in the NFL as they did at Wisconsin with an offensive line that was bigger than most NFL lines.

Forte is turning 30.

Bears are a shite show with a new OC who doesn't like to throw passes to the RB.

No way in hell he gets 600 receiving yards this year. 1000 rushing yards is believable though

You think Demarco Murray has a down year with Matthews there?

Gase is no Trestman but CJ Anderson only started 7 games and caught 34 passes. Forte will still come close to 70 catches. He will still be a top 10 back pretty easily.

His numbers have also decreased since his rookie year the same year RG3 had success. Now with Cousins at QB look for his numbers to drop even more and Matt Jones to be more of a featured back later on.

Will show he's a beast this season.

Someone's bought in to the Forte will suck this year narrative without doing research of his own.
