I led the league in transactions last year, watch as many games as I can on mlb.tv, but the paper has to be finished by 10:30. So you having a leg up at 10:24 to nab the handcuff to my closer who went down with a freak accident is fair?

Yea i agree.. do not like... who suggested this change?

Predraft I was lobbying to get the thing changes so it would be as close to yahoo as possible. I got the $ changed to $0 minimal bid and another day added in for the week. I got blasted on my other suggestions.

But its a fair system and we all have to work within the confines of the rules. It's a shame we didn't raise a bigger stink about this predraft. It's really going to stink at the All star break when some people have exhausted their budgets and hot shot rookies start getting called up.

I think we're all paying attention to baseball, a lot of times it comes down to who is checking twitter at the time of an injury.

Honestly, I thought the FAAB money were to be used on players that were put on waivers while there was still the ability to pick up FA's on a daily basis.

I must have said this three times prior to the ultimate vote. Not one person responded to it

I was already wavering my commitment on playing this year so I thought it would be unfair to comment if I were going to leave. Seems as though most people were just going with the flow.

When I did re-join, I did comment on the FAAB dollars and only VKC responded. I really didn't go back and look at what was said or the specific details or I certainly would have said something. With the way this system is set up, there are going to be some broke arse folks come the All Star break, imo.

I just don't know if I like the system. Would like to reevaluate this next year.

That was me. It was only logical. Like I said prior to the draft, a 16 game football season with 200 FAAB dollars wasn't even enough in my league, and we're talking about a 6 month season for baseball with 100.

Use accordingly people... if not there will be a lot of bitching later on.

But you could still pick up players for $0. Or just manage your budget how you want. That's fair. Everyone has an equal opportunity.

What's not fair is for an owner to pick up Kelvin Herrera right after Holland goes down with an injury because the owner is on Twitter.

I'm aware of that. I never said it wasn't fair.

There are two sides to this coin MWG. You would feel different if you were watching the game, see your closer go down, and not being able to scoop him back up the next day because you didn't have enough funds or... someone who placed the same bid as you has priority. Sure you'd have no one to blame but yourself for mismanaging your funds, but at that very moment, you know what you're going to say?

"I hate this gay arse system!"

Ive been the major proponent of FAAB in this league since its inception.

You won't hear me say "I hate this gay arse system."

It's the only fair way to do it.

Guys, ultimately we voted on this switch last year as a league.

I personally like the fact that it does not come to who adds Broxton faster. shite, half of us were ready to make the move within 10 minutes of the line drive hitting Chapman.

Thanks to PSU for the $0 minimum bid. That was a good change. I read about mwg saying it would be locked the rest of the week. I assumed everyone knew that. I did a little reading into FAAB last season and this offseason.

As far as the $100 goes, what difference does it make? You are using a percentage of your budget with each move. By the way, there are probably roughly 50 FAAB periods over the course of the season. So, I would obviously average around $2 total per FAAB. Of course, you will probably spend a higher percentage at the beginning of the year. Adds like Broxton (assuming Chapman were to miss a significant amount of time) is worth more than your $2 bid, but my advice is make a lot of $0 bids especially if you add some shitty player.

I have no idea if we will like FAAB better, but I think it is great for football.

Everyone is on even grounds. I didn't like it at first because I hate change (and learning new things).

The zero minimal bid helps out a lot. I like to stream crap players in a lot and I couldn't do that with the way the system was set up. I still can't do it with only 2 FAAB periods a week, but I can stream SP in at the end of the year if I am short on IP's.

The need to stream will be a lot lower with the IP at 1400 compared to last year's 1500.
