Yeah but you'd be surprised by how many good players are left after keeping 10. Probably more than there are in football when only keeping 3.
Here is my roster in my other 12 team, 10 keeper league:
1B Teixeira
1B Howard
2B Pedroia
SS Hardy
3B Zimmerman
3B Ramirez
OF Hamilton
OF Heyward
OF Ethier
OF Soo Choo
SP Kershaw
SP Strasburg
SP Cain
SP Gio Gonzalez
SP Hellickson
SP Marcum
SP Daniel Hudson
RP Rivera
All guys that could potentially be keepers, so 10 is not really a whole heck of a lot IMO.

The thing with baseball is you have the minors. Which just adds to the player pool. Hubs couldn't draft Trent Richardson last year and keep him for this year in the ATL football league. But just like I am in DAT, I picked up Matt Moore in like June, kept him on my roster all year and am now going to keep him. 8 isn't that much, IMHO.

I'm good with whatever amount of keepers. My main point was about the draft style. I think auction would be better for this type league. There would be more strategy involved.

I have zero experience with auction, but if the majority wants it, I have no problem with it.

Same I have zero experience with an auction league.
Add in someone like Hubs who this is his first time playing baseball, it is a recipe for disaster.
I say we just make it a straight keeper league. Your first 8 picks are your keepers, you must keep 8.

That's fine. I'll go with whatever. They have mock drafts for auction leagues on Yahoo for those with no experience. It really is a much better way to draft for a keeper league. I'll do snake though.

i say lets keep it vanilla this year: snake and 8 keepers (10 if we get a league vote)
and we can talk about an auction draft next year
my thing about baseball keepers is with the minors and the amount of players already in the show, 10 isn't that much. especially when you're going to have a keeper that is currently in the minors anyway like tres uno had with moore

Auction is where you have a set budget and each player is up for grabs based on who is willing to pay/bid the most.
I have never done it in baseball but it seems like if would be much more difficult than football. In football its okay because each team has like 12 players thus you always have a good idea of how much money you have to spend etc but with baseball having nearly twice as many it could get confusing quick.
