Exactly. Even CJ signed before the season started. There is so much benefit to making training camp and pre season practices as those practice are geared towards getting into game shape. In season practices are not. It will take MJD a long time to get to where he needs to be if he waits any longer

MJD had 5 preseason carries (all in the last game) last year coming off knee surgery. Led the league in rushing. He's not going to need much time to get ready. shite even if MJD plays 8 games MJD/Fitz blows McCoy out the water.

Well...if he has to plug in Garcon, MJD/Fitz may be better.
If Britt is healthy enough to play with no suspension (two huge IFs), then I would rather McCoy/Britt. I don't see that happening w/Britt so McCoy/Garcon < MJD/Fitz.

My reasoning for taking the trade was even at WORST MJD doesn't play all season and it is a McCoy for Fitzgerald trade straight up. BUT that also means that I would have hit on my 9th round pick who will be playing as around a 3rd or 4th round value.
Another scenario is MJD comes back after a couple of games and if he is even 75% he is a 3rd or 4th round value. Say he's 100% by the time the playoffs roll around and I have a fresh #1 RB.
Another scenario is he gets traded and I have Jennings and MJD as starting RBs.
Bottom line is it provides security and I don't have to worry about losing Jennings halfway through the season or in the playoffs when it matters, and I'm paying pennies on the dollar for a guy who was drafted IN THE FIRST ROUND A WEEK AND A HALF AGO.
