all valid. and you gotta have someone playing devils advocate to make sure we are makign the best decision.

I'd rather 16 teams and keepers..but it is what it is..there's gonna be tradeoffs.and 24 teams has passed, so now we gotta figure out the best format for that

eta--and with at least 1500 bucks in the pot, i'm all about the option that reduces the luck involved with fantasy football...i'd rather reduce luck and have conflicting interests than the other way around

im leaning towards this too

however, like gyno, i always liked that little bit of luck that could come into play in the playoffs. You know, where the hot team can make a run at the end.

However in this format, in the playoffs, with only a few teams, that luck factor will come back into play more where anyone can really win.

not so much in the regular season. But if you field a decent squad you'll see the playoffs. As someone who usually fields strong teams but short on luck ,im curious to see how this works out

Worst case scenario - we go back to regular head to head next year.

Yes, but it's not really luck IMO.

You are better than the other team that WEEK in a HEAD to HEAD match up. That's the point. Your players vs the other players that week.

If you score the most points but have a 500 record, are you really the "best team"?

How do you determine the title "best team"?

You could score 200 points two weeks in a row and have a bunch of mediocre weeks and still have the most points in the league but a shitty record.

The best team doesn't always have to win. You could have a crappy team the first 4 weeks, then all of a sudden add those 1 or 2 breakout guys and sweep the rest of schedule. You don't have the most points, but your team is hot at the right time.

H2H leagues are just more natural and realistic to me.

i dont even know if what i wrote makes sense

This could still happen, though. And I like that once you get to the playoffs if the two low scores match up and the highest scores would have matched up, this way the two better teams still advance.

I think it's worth an experiment at least.

its still all week to week, you are just playing against more teams, per se.

the hot team at the end will most probably still win the championship. FACT

makes sense to me. I've always struggled with how to gauge the "best team" question. IMO, it's the team thats most consistant week in and week out. And this format allows for that.

I know we have all been part of a week where we score 120 and opponent scores 130, and someone w/ 90 pts gets a win. That's 100% "LUCK" w/ the schedule.

But that's also true for every other sports fantasy. But with only 12 scorable W/L's in comparison to 200 scorable W/Ls in TDBBL /TDBL, that one unlucky week could cost you.

We'll have solid pot, we should be able to payout a variety of things..maybe thats the happy medium

he was, back in 2003 when i said that.

8 years later??

its funny that is all you have to hang your hat on in 3 leagues and over 10 different seasons of these leagues.

That and making fun of me for saying Vick wasnt a keeper when you tried for weeks to trade him yourself you pathetic slob
