Team-by-team analysis of the playoff caliber teams:

No offense to these teams, but I think they already know that they are playing for the future at this point, so I won't evaluate their chances:
Port
Earl
Boo/Lou
Rick
McCain

Now, for the contenders, with current standing:

#1 cwill
95-43-12, 14 Games Ahead for Best Record, 19 Games ahead of Wildcard cutoff
Remaining schedule: Geaux, Rouge, Honk, Clams, Earl

Strengths: Offensive Power Categories
Weaknesses: Team Management, injuries
Analysis: Doubtful that anyone catches this team for best record, but it certainly looks beatable in a playoff series.

#2t Rondo
82-58-10, 5 games ahead for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Knat, Clams, Earl, Rouge, Geaux

Strengths: Team management
Weaknesses: Steals
Analysis: One of the better managers in the league, rondo sometimes can make something happen out of nothing. He doesn't dominate in any one category, but he doesn't totally suck in any either, outside of steals. This is a hard team to predict results on.

#2t Knat
83-59-8, 5 games ahead for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Rondo, Earl, Clams, Honk, Rouge

Strengths: Team management
Weaknesses: Depth
Analysis: The defending champion has a good enough team to repeat. Some guys on the staff are coming back down to earth, but I don't see any way that this team isn't back in the postseason.

#4 Redd
83-60-7, 4.5 games up for wildcard
Remaining Schedule: Barry, McCain, Rick, Gyno, PCT

Strengths: Starting pitching, offensive Depth
Weaknesses: Inconsistent offense, OPS, SB
Analysis: This team has the pitching staff to compete almost any week, but the offense is very inconsistent. Extremely deep, this team could probably withstand an injury or two on offense. Remaining schedule is favorable.

#5 Lester Earl
80-60-10, 3 games up for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Boo, Gyno, PCT, McCain, Barry

Strengths: Offensive Depth, Offensive Power
Weaknesses: Starting pitching, injuries
Analysis: Never afraid to go for it (he just made a blockbuster as I was writing this), this team is always dangerous in a playoff format. Favorable schedule almost assures this team of being in the playoffs, and is my pick to get the second bye.

#6 Honkus
80-65-5, .5 games ahead for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Rouge, Geaux, cwill, Knat, Clams

Strengths: Team Management, Mike Trout
Weaknesses: Depth, Bullpen
Analysis: Outstanding job of managing this young team, and it has far exceeded expectations. Very tough remaining schedule. I'd be surprised if it has the staying power to finish in the top 6. Certainly possible, though.

#7 Barry
79-65-6, .5 GB for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Redd, Rick, McCain, PCT, Lester Earl

Strengths: Starting Pitching, overall balance
Weaknesses: Offensive consistency
Analysis: Been waiting on this team to flip the switch and take off (it will probably happen this week). Fairly easy schedule will help this team going forward.

#8 Drunken Clams
79-66-5, 1 GB for wildcard
Remaining Schedule: Earl, Rondo, Knat, cwill, Honk

Strengths: Offensive power
Weaknesses: K/9, inconsistent SP
Analysis: Does anyone really want to play this team right now? I sure as frick don't. Juggernaut on offense. Shady pitching, but has the ability to get hot. Brutal schedule, with his last four weeks coming against current playoff teams. It'll be tough, but this team has the tools to make it.

#9 Geaux
78-67-5, 2 GB for wildcard
Remaining schedule: cwill, Honk, Rouge, Earl, Rondo

Strengths: Bullpen
Weaknesses: Inconsistent offense, depth
Analysis: Not sure what to think of this team. On paper, it looks pretty tough to beat, but I don't totally trust that pitching staff. Fairly tough schedule, but not impossible to succeed. Toss up.

#10 Gyno
70-69-11, 7 GB of wildcard
Remaining schedule: PCT, Lester Earl, Boo, Redd, Rick

Strengths: Offensive power
Weaknesses: Depth, maybe already playing for next year
Analysis: It looks like Gyno is sort of selling out, but he still has an outside shot at making the playoffs. I'm kind of surprised to see him go out like this, if he is indeed packing it in. Jury is still out, I guess.

#11 Rouge
70-72-8, 8.5 GB for wildcard
Remaining schedule: Honk, cwill, Geaux, Rondo, Knat

Strengths: Star power, Starting pitching
Weaknesses: Team management, RP
Analysis: No shot at all of making the playoffs with that schedule. I probably should have put this team in with the other non-contenders and saved five minutes.

Yes, over the course of the season, but over the last month his k/9 has risen to the 8-9/9 range.

I found out last night the deadline was today. I don't really care one way or another.

Would suck if someone traded for someone and they lost value a few hours later cause they were traded irl

Quentin and Markakis OTB for a high pick.

Schafer is available for a mid round pick for a team needing steals. Aviles can be had for anyone needing middle if help.

Wasn't the trade deadline moved up last year after a vote was called for? I don't remember why we moved it up in the first place.
