The only shite from up north that is spiced appropriately is Cincinnati Chili, which I just happen to be eating right now.

A "competing" baseball executive told SI.com's Jon Heyman that he believes the Cubs will make a 10-year, $275 million offer to Albert Pujols if he hits free agency. We don't doubt it. The Cubs have a ton of money coming off the books in the winter of 2011 and would be able to support a massive offer for the man who has done so much damage against them. But this isn't really news -- it's just speculation and hype for now. Pujols has stated a desire to cut off all talks regarding a contract extension once he arrives at spring training, but it's not like the Cardinals won't try to re-sign him throughout the summer and early fall. For now, Albert is far from available.

That's my opinion too. I'm just stoked that we'll finally be dumping some of these salaries after this year.

Only to probably make some more.

Basketball talk.

If you were the Knicks, would you have accepted?

I think I would have.

quote:

The New York Daily News is reporting in its Tuesday edition that the Knicks turned down a trade proposal from the Nuggets that would have sent Carmelo Anthony to New York.

Reportedly the Nuggets wanted Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Eddy Curry and at least one first-round pick, but team president Donnie Walsh and head coach Mike D'Antoni thought that was too steep of a price to acquire Anthony and Chauncey Billups.

Wouldnt it just be cheaper to wait until the end of the season and sign him as a FA?

no guarantee he will sign there.

NY wont be able to offer him as much in the FA market as other teams.

Yes they will. And they'll be able to offer another max salary for Dwill or CP3 in 2012.

Maybe, maybe not. If he's not traded, he'll most likely take his $18M player option w/ Den for next year, then sign that 3 yr $65M extension with Den before the new CBA is in effect
