I think the resolution to this would be to make teams drop players ahead of the draft next year. Like a week in advance.

I thought about that too port. But then you have someone that might rather trade pick(s) and keep their players. I may run into that situation this year.

Waivers or current process makes most sense to me. This would be a non-issue if not for the CjMc issue last year.

Poll is posted.

I can see guys with 2nd rd picks now waiting 2 days for dropped guys to clear waivers to draft them

You can't do that. Some Teams choose to "pass" instead of drafting.

You would have to keep a running list of who was dropped, then run waivers through an email

Although, I hope our 28 pick draft doesnt take 3 days

Well if you're going to allow that then the guy with the #1 claim would be able to jump in and add/drop

You just let the guys who are dropped go to waivers with the rest of the pool post draft

That would be fricked up. That would be circumventing the system. The entire draft should happen w/in 24-48 hours. That's reasonable.

Edited for time frame

Just lock the pool and then after the draft reset all players to waivers, if you can do that.

Do that shite currently in my football dynasty league. You cut down before the draft and it makes better sense then the two of these solutions, but people want to have their cake and eat it too.

Do owners have the option to pass in your league? And if they do drop prior and then pass, what happens?

It's a fine solution, but the owner would have to decide then if he's using or vacating the pick

No...you make a decision weather you want to draft or not up front. It's pretty standard in dynasty leagues.

If you want to have the ability to pass on drafting or cutting a player, the player you cut should be eligible as soon as you cut him.

IIRC, last year we had 2 "passes" and 4-5 "dropped players" drafted.

The waiver thing just makes 2nd rd picks useless.

Each year there will be 10-14 rookies that are draftable.

The player pool without these guys is bare as can be.

Now add 14-20 dropped guys to the player pool, and we actually have something there.

Go luck at the bottom players on each roster, they are all pretty bad. But once dropped, they will be better than pretty much all the players in the FA pool sans rookies.

He dropped him in the 2nd rd to draft a dropped Zaza Pachulia (the type of guy you should be able to draft in the 2nd rd to improve your team).

And CjM can't be the example of why there needs to be a rule change. It's an outlier.
