Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:08 pm to Boomshockalocka
Boban per 36 will shite on embiid this year too.
Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:10 pm to 21JumpStreet
He plays v scrubs, I wouldnt trade a second rounder for that due.
Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:12 pm to Boomshockalocka
His per 36 will always be greater than embiid doe
Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:18 pm to 21JumpStreet
Nope once Embiid settles into the league say by year 3 he will eclipse those #s.
Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:36 pm to Boomshockalocka
Per 36 for centers who may never even play 20 mpg for a season in their career
Posted on 6/10/16 at 3:38 pm to GynoSandberg
If embiid was in this year's draft he'd go ahead of the guy you just took with your first pick.

Are we really drafting now?

Nope...I want to see how the draft shakes out before I consider my picks. Gun to my head, I take Jamal Murry @3 but last week it was Bender. IDK.

Per 36 for centers who may never even play 20 mpg for a season in their career
One of the reasons I hate the PER 36 stat. This stat usually tries to make a backup player look better than he really is.
Posted on 6/10/16 at 4:00 pm to Gtothemoney
I dont hate it at all, it's actually very useful.
But there are 30 NBA teams and only 11 centers even averaged 30 or minutes per game last season. So their numbers usually never come to fruition as they are in a timeshare or just a straight backup. The position just isnt that valuable anymore
A guy Cole Aldrich has a per 36 of 12/12/3 over 7 NBA seasons. There will never be an opportunity for that guy to even get 20 mpg. Centers are the kings of sexy PER 36
But say grabbing a guy like Kent Bazemore last year before he was gifted the starting role. You knew there was an open spot for him, his per 36 suggested a cat filler, pick the dude up and reap the benefits once he pops. Ive noticed a lot of teams wised up and began adding soon to be FAs with sexy per 36 who may jump into more PT

You getting bored this offseason? Outside of dumping Parsons, Im not sure I see your vision in these trades youve made. Care to enlighten?
I had to go back and check your roster from the playoffs. You were nearly 20 gamees over .500. I feel like your roster is noticeably weaker now.

I thought the same thing. That Vucevic/Valanciunas deal was a head scratcher for me.
I don't like how PER can factor in that likely you'd be going against starter competition and playing in crunch time when assholes get tight. It's much different than playing in a backup rotation.

I thought it was pretty obvious that I am trying to rebuild. And I totally disagree...I am not one to brag about winning or losing trades, but from my perspective I have done well for myself. I've traded older players for younger players with higher upside (in my mind). Maybe part of your problem is that you are looking at the roster now without factoring #3 and #6. I am pretty certain that I am getting two studs to group with McCollum, Randle & Okafor.
The trade I just made, I like Mirotic better than both Evan Turner and Demarre Carrol, and like what I saw from Curry. I think he's a good buy low candidate.
Festus Ezili is going to get paid and will have a bigger role next year. Alex Burks was solid before injury and is at worst a decent bench option.
Teletovic isn't young but he's a flame thrower. Bazemore is a nice piece.

Man I just have to disagree. The 2nd half of the year my team was average and the roster I had after the playoffs was closer to a 10th place team than a 1st place team. I was actually looking at the way you rebuilt your team and was doing something similar. But I def disagree with your assessment of me just trading to trade. I am active yeah but the moves I have made this offseason make sense and are making up for the bad ones I made last year.

Why? Okafor damn near put up Vucevic numbers as a rookie. Julius Randle averaged a double-double as a rookie and is going to be used like Draymond is Walton's system. Plus I got the 8th pick, which I used to get the 3rd. Maybe I am just looking at it closer than y'all.
I am pretty sure that Gyno actually said he wanted a return like the one I got (McCollum, Vucevic and Teletovic) when I traded Dray, btw.
