I thought it was pretty obvious that I am trying to rebuild. And I totally disagree

I realized that. I dont necessarily think the guys you got are bad or anything, but the timing didnt bring you optimal value IMO. Guess we gotta see what pans out with the picks, but we know they are hit or miss,

IN

CJ McCollum
Julius Randle
Jahlil Okafor
Mirza Teletovic
Kelly Oubre
Nikola Mirotic
Seth Curry

OUT

Elfrid Payton- traded for Ryno originally
Ryan Anderson- Pending new team, injured to close out 2016
Draymond Green
Goran Dragic
Nikola Vucevic
Jonas Valunciunas
Tyreke Evans- Hurt, more value in season (38 overall in 2015)
Chandler Parsons -
Demarr Carroll- Hurt, more value in season (68 overall in 2015)
Evan Turner- Pending new team

quote:

The trade I just made, I like Mirotic better than both Evan Turner and Demarre Carrol,

I mean, I could agree, but Bulls have cap space and who knows how that front court shapes up. Turner is a FA, and Carrol was hurt. So im just thinking ROI here

quote:

Festus Ezili is going to get paid and will have a bigger role next year. Alex Burks was solid before injury and is at worst a decent bench option.

Yeah, Id like to see what Ezeli does. I agree on Burks, Teletovic, and Bazemore (will also likley be in new spot too)

quote:

The 2nd half of the year my team was average and the roster I had after the playoffs was closer to a 10th place team than a 1st place team.

Understandable, i didnt pay attention to the ebbs and flows

quote:

I was actually looking at the way you rebuilt your team and was doing something similar

I had some old, meh players, i feel like you had a pretty young, strong team at full health.

quote:

But I def disagree with your assessment of me just trading to trade. I am active yeah but the moves I have made this offseason make sense and are making up for the bad ones I made last year.

Didnt mean trading to trade literally. And wasnt trying to pick you apart, just that you're the only one doing anything and there is nothnig to talk about

i like Okafor but a lil leery about him especially if Embiid is decent and eats into his minutes. If he gets traded, what kind of system does he go into?

Randle needs to improve his shooting. Just don't see him comparing to Draymond.

You did get the #3 overall, but young rookies have always been a crapshoot for me.

Idk. Who knows?

I just love the consistency of Vuc/Val. They're a proven commodity.

I am going to edit this just a bit with some additions and perspective

quote:

IN

CJ McCollum - 24 year old PG,SG most improved player of the year. #25 on PR
Julius Randle - 21 year old, averaged DD, rookie season kills Jonas, 4 years younger, will be the better player next year
Jahlil Okafor - 20 year old rookie, rk numbers >>>> Vucevic, 5 years older, much better piece long term and likely near future
Mirza Teletovic - 30, not in long term plans,
Kelly Oubre - throw in...project type, maybe a bazemore type in a year or two
Nikola Mirotic - 25 year old (beard will fool ya) better offensively than Carroll (who turns 30 next month coming off injury) and Turner (28 before season starts, not old or anything), bigger role next year
Seth Curry - played well EOY...Free agent...low risk for swapping a role player in Turner.
Draft pick round one, #3 - Stud
Draft pick round 1, #6 - potential stud (will be a stud)

OUT

Elfrid Payton- traded for Ryno originally - has been nothing to brag about...make or break year.
Ryan Anderson- Pending new team, injured to close out 2016 - like, injury risk and prefer pick
Draymond Green - stud obv...top 15 player
Goran Dragic - Solid, not a stud. Top 60 guy
Nikola Vucevic - Nice player, I prefer Okafor's upside
Jonas Valunciunas - Room to grow, Randle has better fantasy value going forward IMO. 4th year and averaged 13 and 9 (randle with 11 and 10). Randle 3 years younger..give me him.
Tyreke Evans- Hurt, more value in season (38 overall in 2015) - Think he's on the decline but still a contributer.
Chandler Parsons - Injury risk with top 40 upside, still young
Demarr Carroll- Hurt, more value in season (68 overall in 2015) Will be 30 next month, hobbled all last year, will not be better than 2015.
Evan Turner- Pending new team, role player

Val is consistently a 12 and 9 guy...Randle was 11 and 10 as a rookie under Byron Scott with Kobe shooting 25 times a game He was definitely a buy low guy. I had several folks IM me after that deal saying they liked it from my point. It was not a fleece, but those 2 plus 8 was the better end for me. JS has a team ready to contend so it was good for him too.

I normally agree about the draft being a Crap shoot but there are about 8 guys that I think will be really good NBA players. I think I'll get a stud 1st 3 and have a chance to scoop up another 1 at 6.

You are talking about 24 and 25 y/o centers like they are old man Al Jefferson. Those dudes are young and as consistent as they come, and you seem to be ignoring great percentages and blocked shots both bring. shite, Vucevic already has a top 25 player finish and JV top 40.

Okafor is close. I feel you are off on randle's evaluation

I'm not, I'm saying these dudes are better at this point than those guys were...Neither were far away as rookies as those guys were in their 4th - 5th seasons. Add the 8th pick from jump street and it was a no brainer.

They got a lot of minutes of the two worst teams in the league, but I'm not sure I'd say better if we are talking talent standpoint

JV's 21 y/o season is better than Randle's and Vuc was a stud age 22, his first season getting real minutes. Both guys' per 36 are pretty much the same every year

I know you are probably thinking they improve their numbers, and that's understandable. I'm just wondering where they max out at.

Randle being compared to Green, at this point, is nuts. Guy shot 29% on 400 jump shots last season. He has a lot of work to do. Great rebounder, can't say good scorer given the efficiency. While I could see the possible potential, I guess I'm just not a Randle guy

Okafor looks good. My question is, where does he improve. With the right team his scoring will improve. I guess peak we are looking at Brook Lopez, which would be a great Fantasy guy. He can't get there in PHI imo

I would like to move into the draft. I have a lot of guards that I could move.

When the draft starts, can we post who we are picking and AND who we are dropping? This would just be for clarity purposes.
