What? I did nominate Brand in Trier's place. I alert POrt of the move on August 8th. Put in the WW claim for Brand, and when it processed I stated on the board that Brand was the placeholder(per instructions from Port). What other hoop was I supposed to jump through?

well said. I'd also have more sympathy here if he wasn't even aware that Trier was placed in the pool and missed on the opportunity. But, he bid $0 on him so he saw the addition.

Yeah, I've checked every day to add him so that I could have him on my team before the year started. I even emailed ESPN to get clarification. Again, I was told on October 8th to go add a retired player for him. We started the discussion of rule changes on October 9th at 11:58am (two hours after Elton Brand claim was processed).

Will, what do you mean "bid date"?

There’s gotta be a way you could notify someone what your bid is going to be once he hits the pool. If someone else bids more that that when he hits the pool, then that player goes to the highest bidder.

If Port says he has interest in bidding on that player too, I guess notify the next in line.

That is not the way things were done in the past. We now have a new rule so this doesn't really matter anymore.

I wasn't going to tell everyone until Brand was on my team, winning the claim. I did that.

You are saying I should have told the whole league that I was putting in the claim for someone?

No, apparently you are supposed to announce that to everyone
