it's of course smart to do your research about players and matchups and stuff, but it can get to be ridiculous to the point of basically throwing darts at a wall.

Yea and I feel that often times more research after a certain point hurts you. You try to follow 'trends' too much. Steve Slaton is a perfect example of following trends more than solid research. He never did well enough to be a top ten pick but he got treated as such because of Kubiak and so many predictions.

yeah exactly - I think it's best to stick to a pretty basic draft plan, with having a few guys in mind that you want to target earlier than most. Then on a week to week basis, just evaluating the players and matchups. Too much wacky stuff, and you'll wind up talking yourself out of common sense.

speaking of which, I'm pleased with my team, some questions, but most of my starting line up should have better years than they had last year.

It was insulting.

the Browns suck, but so do the Giants.

And Gates is WAY better than Miller.

yes he is, that's why I said that I would give you NYG def for the Cleveland Browns, Gates for Miller, S.Rice/Camarillo for Jacoby Jones/Chaz Schilens

Gates>Miller (about 15 catches, if that)
S.Rice for Chaz Schillens (wayyy your favor)(Rice healthier)
Camarillo> J.Jones (better situation, and proven PPR guy)
NYG(Tuck/Osi)> much better than Cleveland(??? do you know anyone on their team)

You don't have to take it, It's completely up to you.....but it's not insulting

last year

Gates with rivers

79 catches 1157 yards 8 Td's

Miller with JaMarcus Russell

66 catches 805 yards 3 Td's

Miller now has Campbell (see Chris Cooley/Fred Davis)....do you think Miller will be better or worse?

Chaz gets you nothin, Jones is 3rd string.
Rice/Camarillo gets you a legit WR3 worse case scenario.

I got 3 wr's to start, you don't really

I listened.

I don't know whether or not to trust you all the time, Kash. You're the competition.

I'm biased and won't do something that will hurt my team(on purpose), but I also won't purposely screw the other person. Like your "insulting" comment suggested.

You know your team is less than stellar and you will have to take a chance(risk) on some players while losing the comfort of the 2 Studs you have (Manning,Gates) if you want to better your team.

for example: Trading Manning to get Romo+wr/rb that you can legitimately start IMO is better than, starting Manning and Louis Murphy. But that's up to you. I can tell you can't hold on to those guys and expect someone to give you elite wr/rbs for what you have to offer. Just a difficult issue you'll have to work with in the mgmt. of your team.

yay, draft went through....4 days later

can we shorten the period or just have the commish push them through? This waiting for 14 people to vote really handcuffs you

both the trade and waiver periods are only 2 days. 1 day seems kind of short since most people probably don't look at the league page everyday.

Eh, I agree with you that Cam has some great upside, it's also very possible that he puts up 3 and 4 point games most week. And Rice will be gone too long, with a question mark on how he'll recover.

I can go down to a 1 day trade and waiver review if y'all think it's enough - maybe we should wait til the season starts when people are more likely to be checking the league page though

k, wait til season.

1. Pennington/Lemon hit him 54 times in 10 games
2. Henne hit him 50 times in 16
3. he didn't drop a single pass last year

But it's all hype now, I gotta see him play before I allow you to have him ....plus I think cubbs wants Rice back (and she thinks she got hosed the 1st time...)
