I've tried this a bit as well, but I think I'm getting info overload

Honestly, this is like betting on games to me....you can read all the info you want (and you'd better if you want to improve your chances), but ultimately this is sports, and to actually win requires a lot of luck.

Cubbies, you have no idea. Wait til the season starts and you are able to access the waiver wire, cut & add players, propose trades, analyze the weeks match ups to determine the starting lineup.

I just got an erection.

That's why I wanted to do it. My life has been really stressful lately so I wanted a distraction... looks like I found one that will make me some money, too.

Me too. I'm casually reading things, but you can get so much information that you second guess everything.

Bottom line, it's $50. I'm going to have fun, but if some of you are investing this much time into it, you guys are likely going to smoke my arse.

Like Kash said, having great players before the season starts doesn't guarantee anything. Players get hurt, have bad games, etc. etc. I'm having fun reading about different players and strategies but I don't have a very strategic mind and I also have the worst luck of anyone I've ever met or heard of so I'm not really as confident in my victory as I let on.

grab a good kicker early, everyone needs one and there are a ton of wr's and Running back by committees so they will be there later

I knew this guy once that used this strategy and won his league. I agree kickers should be the priority for any newbies out there. RB's are plentiful. Always looking out for your fellow politard, kash, very nice of you.

normally my draft strategy goes like this

1)kicker
2)defense
3)Tightend
4)Old running back that was amazing 5 years ago
5)Jamarcus Russell or Ryan leaf depending on who's still around
6)any of the detroit lions first round wr's

I usually just draft the top 16 kickers - this way, everyone else is left with garbage

Are your boys going to finally beat Philly for me tonight?

Question: your draft picks (in terms of positions) should depend on the rules of your league right?
