Signs point to Knowshon returning this week

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero believes Knowshon Moreno (elbow) was "being quirky" when he suggested last week he was four weeks away from returning.

"That was always worst case," wrote Salguero. Salguero believes the Dolphins' decision to waive backup RB Orleans Darkwa on Monday indicates they "obviously feel confident" Moreno will be available for Week 6 against the Packers. Moreno should have been stashed to this point, but he's now a must-add wherever he was let go. When healthy, the Dolphins have shown more fondness for Moreno as a feature runner, utilizing Lamar Miller as a change-of-pace back. Miami also suddenly has put together one of the better offensive lines in the league. C/RG Mike Pouncey will return from his hip injury this week.

Report: Titans may turn to Mettenberger soon

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested on NFL Live Monday that the Titans might turn to rookie Zach Mettenberger "pretty soon."

ESPN's Chris Mortensen said something similar on NFL Insiders. Having dropped four straight games, the Titans are fast falling out of a playoff picture they never had a chance to enter, and may as well start playing their young pups. Contract-year starter Jake Locker can't stay healthy, and Checkdown Charlie Whitehurst is a 32-year-old career journeyman backup. Sixth-round rookie Mettenberger has a big arm and led the NFL in preseason passing yards

Niles Paul active, Jordan Reed out for MNF

Niles Paul (concussion) is active and will start Monday night's Week 5 game against the Seahawks.

Jordan Reed (hamstring) remains sidelined and is inactive. Paul will be a low-end TE1 against a Seahawks defense that has struggled with tight ends. Also inactive for the Redskins are Robert Griffin (ankle), CB Tracy Porter, S Trenton Robinson, CB Richard Crawford, OL Spencer Long, and WR Santana Moss.

I had accepted I was fricked going into tonight but then came a glimmer of hope. I was up 8 in the 4th quarter then one play changed everything
