I did the Champion of Champions last year on Yahoo. It's fun. Did really well the first week (finished something like 1300th out of 100k), second week did alright (finished in the Top 10k or so out of like 60k).

Seems like after spewing this crap:

Being able to evaluate teams and players. Basic economic concepts. Opportunity cost. Supply and demand. Etc. Being good with numbers..

You'd be all for daily. Because that's exactly what it takes.

Too much variance in weekly. I like to draft a beast team. Put my best guys out there each week. And see how it pans out. As you can see it has been pretty good. I don’t even consider matchups except In the most extreme cases. Never sat a guy for playing on a Thursday. Never sat a guy playing the 8th d for one playing the 20th D just bc of the defenses faced. Fantasy football is a massive massive Industry so you can’t just say. Draft the best players and put them out there as a fantasy football analyst. That’s where you get all this overanalysis. “This defense give up 3 fantasy points per touch. This one give 3.2, play x”.

All that stuff. That don’t lead to wins. Paralysis by analysis.

AKA, I'm only good over the course of a season and can't evaluate week to week.

ETA: I hear what you're saying, but don't say you use all of these "skills" and then basically say you just draft a stud team and play them all year.

I don’t have no interest in trying to outsmart the built in variance Of the game.

This all just sounds like chicken shite excuses.

I'm surprised you weren't one of the guys saying my team sucked before the season started.

Being able to accurately evaluate players and more importantly teams before they are shooting live bullets.( Ie regular season games that matter) is much tougher than doing it in weekly. In weekly you have actual data to base your decisions on. You have what has happened thus far in the season in the games.

In preseason drafts you gotta speculate.. who’s gonna be good. Who’s gonna be sorry this year. With much less info than you have once the season starts. That’s where the real skill comes in.

To a guy that proclaims himself in the elite? Yeah.

I haven't even seen your squad. Just going by what you said of drafting a beast team.

And lmao at daily being easier because you can see what they've done. What they've done affects their value, so you can't just load up on beasts. You're not going to take Brady, Big Ben, A Rodg, or Brees with Bell, Julio, Freeman, or Brown and put a solid team on the field for $200. You'll spend nearly half your budget on one of those QBs and one of those RB/WRs with another 7 slots to fill.

ETA: Screen caps of my Yahoo case wouldn't do much good since I've only played in 4 yahoo leagues. The rest were ESPN.

However, of the 3 yahoo leagues I've completed, I won 2, and finished 5th in the 3rd. Currently second in the 4th with the #1 Scoring team in the league.

Yea and you going up against some Ivy League computer programmer who don’t even watch football but can Input hundreds of teams at once and beat you bc he played the same lineup with 7 different kickers and one of those kickers beat you.

No thanks. I am an eye test guy. Not a computer programmer.

Season long for life.

Resume speaks for itself.

Year after year. After year after year. Of contending and winning titles v guys like you.

Sorry but I ain’t gonna apologise for being able to judge players better just by watching them plah than someone like you maybe has to put hours of research into his drafts.
